The average employer spends only 10 seconds looking at a resume. Yet it is typically the only contact that you will initially have with many of your potential employers.

Resume writing is important for making the transition from school to the real world’s workforce. Once you’re pushed into this paradigm, your resume will be one of your ticket into getting a step closer to your dreams. Your resume contains a summary of yourself and what you do for a living. Whether you’re an executive assistant of a local business or the executive manager of a large corporation, you must be able to explain what you do. The ability to explain your responsibilities and the purpose of your duties is what enables you to let your future employer know about your growth, your capability, and your potential to move from a certain position to another. A well-written resume is one proof that explains how well you understand how your tasks and responsibilities fit into the over-all goals of the company, institution, or organization that you are willing to work with.

 

Most job openings receive hundreds or thousands of applicants.
